Look Up
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
Psalm 121:1

This is something we need to do all day so that it becomes second nature in our lives. We need to spend more time looking up and less time looking down. When we look down we can't see what is in front of us and we become distracted by the potholes and the bumps in our journey. What can we gain or benefit from if we look down all the time? Our focus should be looking up to where our help comes from. Now, this does not mean physically looking up or down. This is a spiritual journey we all are on and our spirit man needs to be focused and looking up. To help you better understand let me paint a picture for you. when you look down that means you are stressed, worn out from busyness, unhappy, depressed, uncaring, unkind, looking for the bad in every situation, etc. When you look up you gain a different perspective you are happy, joyful in your journey, smiling from the inside out, you have peace, you handle situations well, you are thankful, you are excited to wake up every morning with a skip in your step. You see God is up and that is where our focus needs to be; not even at eye level because eye level can take you to a place you don't need to go. Stop looking down at your situation, at your life, even at those around you. When you get a looking up perspective the situations and people aren't what they seem. Your challenge starting today is to get a
looking-up perspective and start enjoying your journey to the fullest. We were created for more than just looking down. God is there to protect us when we look up. He will keep us from falling, from stumbling in that pothole or tripping over that hump in our journey. It's time to trust God in our journey and get out of ourselves and lookup for a better way.
Take the time today at some point and hear from God and let Him show you where you need to look up in your life. Ask God to give you the strength to focus on the ups in your life and help you overcome the trials that have you looking down. Make a list of those areas and take one day at a time focusing up in your life. Start to get an upward perspective and smile even when that downward gaze starts to come. We are not perfect and we will have downward looking days, but the exciting part is those days can turn into looking up days when we spend time with our Father. Always remember, no matter what, to share that unique smile with yourself first and then others that cross your path today.
From my heart to yours!
